Debs Wardle - Comedy Writer

Hello! I’m Debs and I’m a comedy writer

I’ve been writing comedy seriously (as it were) for several years and have trained with some fantastic script editors to develop my craft to a professional level.

Having grown up in North Devon where superstition and magic abound, I have a fascination with all things folklore which often seeps into my writing. I also love a bit of sci-fi (I’m a massively geeky Whovian).

Below are a selection of projects I’ve written for TV, radio, and stage. If you would like to discuss any of my existing work or if you’d be interested in collaborating with me on a new project, please get in touch.

(Slightly Dated) Topical Sketches

I wouldn’t be much of a comedy writer if I hadn’t written the odd topical sketch from time to time, now would I? These sketches were inspired by news items and were recorded in November 2019 (and are, as such, slightly dated…).

Mythical Meeting

Hand Holding

Cast: Victoria Ashford, Ben Sohawon, Tim Southgate, Debs Wardle, Charlotte Warner. Recorded by: Sam Enthoven. Effects found on zapsplat.com and music by silvermansound.com
